The long-run idea
An RTP such as 94% describes a theoretical average across a large volume of play. It does not mean a machine returns 94 cents for every dollar in each short session, or that an individual player should expect that amount back.
Short-term results can be much higher or lower because outcomes vary. Volatility affects how widely results may move around the theoretical average.
Configurations can differ
- The same title may have different settings or paytables.
- Jurisdiction and property rules can affect which information is displayed.
- Use the paytable or help screen on the actual machine for the configuration you are considering.
Keep the number in perspective
RTP is not a receipt
A theoretical percentage does not promise a win, a minimum return, or a particular result tonight. It is one educational data point, not a reason to increase a wager or extend a session.
